Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday. A day where we recognize Jesus’ resurrection from the dead… personally I’m not a big fan of ” Easter” but I’m a huge fan of Jesus! So I choose to acknowledge His resurrection not just on a designated day but everyday. At most churches “Easter Sunday” is a production. It’s one Sunday where churches are packed to capacity with visitors, old church members, traditionalist and people who just believe that it’s only right to be in church on Easter. The seats are filled with people in colorful clothing and their “Easter” outfits. Easter Sunday is a church that’s seeking members dream… But what happens after Easter? Are people’s lives changed after hearing about Jesus’ resurrection? Do they know that His life was so that they can also be resurrected? Do we really know what it means to be resurrected? Do we understand what ” It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me”?

This was my reflection yesterday during and after church. I was pensively considering my own resurrection. Thankful, because if Jesus was still in the grave I would be there as well. Grateful, because I accepted the gift He offered me almost a decade ago. He gave His life for mine yet at times my actions portray death instead of life. Does my life reflect Christ in me?

At times my thoughts become clouded by fears of the unknown to the point where He tells me to move and my feet are like cement. His words instructs me and my heart convinced me towards disobedience, why? Because of fear. Fear of what will happen when there’s a total surrendering of all that I am. Fear that is irrational and self sabotaging. That was my reflection on ” Resurrection Sunday”—if Jesus can exchange His life for mine, what’s stopping me from letting go at times? Partial obedience is disobedience.

I wanted to share this song that we sung during praise and worship. The words are much more important than the melody. I’m choosing to exchange fear for faith and obedience. I can’t allow fear to place me in a grave where God has already snatched me from! Thank you so much for stopping by! I pray that you also reflect on ” It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me” not just today but everyday!

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Divine exchange by Charity Gayle
On the cross hung my pain
And the guilt and the shame
Jesus bore my suffering
To the grave to make me free
Oh the blood that was shed
It now flows to cover sin
It washes, clean, and purifies
In its healing crimson tide
Jesus, He took my place in divine exchange
Hallelujah! Grace is mine.
Now I live by faith for the One who saves
He gave all to give me life
His spirit is my present help
I’d be lost all by myself
He resurrects He sanctifies
He take His power and makes it mine
Jesus, He took my place in divine exchange
Hallelujah! Grace is mine.
Now I live by faith for the One who saves
He gave all to give me life
I laydown all lesser things for greater gain
He is alive inside of me
I laydown all lesser things for greater gain
He is alive inside of me
I lay down all lesser things for greater gain
He is alive Oh
Jesus, He took my place in divine exchange
Hallelujah! Grace is mine.
Now I live by faith for the One who saves
He gave all to give me life
